Fort Bend County Energy Audits

Fort Bend County Energy Audits

This project included the identification of building energy consumption, and deficiencies through the analysis of past energy bills, building mechanical equipment, lighting, and operations of county-owned buildings. The energy audits concentrated in four main areas:

  1. A building assessment to describe the basic history of the building and the construction details
  2. An electrical and natural-gas utility bill analysis showing energy used by each audited building. The energy utilization index (EUI), is computed from the data and presented for each building
  3. Provision of suggested Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) for insight into the solutions that might be implemented to reduce energy consumption
  4. Fine tuning of the recommended ECMs indicating energy saving dollars, the estimated cost to implement and the simple payback in years.

Architect for Life worked with Lockwood, Andrews, & Newnam, Inc. in facilitating the auditing of 1,036,971 sq. ft.  of county owned/operated space.
